Introduction
Ever since we launched this lock, this is the question we hear the most is: “Do you provide a padlock with your lock box?”
No, we don’t, because there is no need for one.
This is already a lock.
Let’s talk about lock boxes for shipping containers…

Introducing: the Lock Box Lock
The Seguratainer Smart Lock Box is now called the Seguratainer Lock Box Lock. Here’s why:
First of all, our other locks got upset that only this one was branded as “smart”: all Seguratainer locks are electronic smart locks.
With Seguratainer you are the one who will look smart. You will:
Manage all locks and personal smartphone-keys from your laptop
Access a 24/7 log per lock and key
Create geofencing lock limits
Apply time sensitive lock rules
A Lock Box with no padlock?
But then… why did we add the word “Lock” at the end of Lock Box Lock? Are our marketing guys so sloppy that they did not notice they repeated the word “lock” in a 3-word combination?
No, we are good with our marketing team.
Instead, it turns out we hear this question way too often: “we are interested in your Smart Lock Box, but do you also provide the padlock”.
So, yeah, this was the second mistake: this is not a “lock box”. It is a Lock Box Lock. As in, it is a lock by itself. Like, you don’t need a padlock. It’s like a good holiday: all inclusive. See, that last “lock” is essential in the name.
Hence, the artist previously known as the Seguratainer Smart Lock Box is now called the Seguratainer Lock Box Lock.
We have even amended the video published last spring to reflect these changes. Our marketing team took the chance to make the fonts bigger and edited some copy, “to better convey the message.” We think they were just piling some hours. They also changed the soundtrack. Maybe we do need to have a chat with them after all…
But what’s essential is this: if you like the traditional lock box format the Seguratainer Lock Box Lock looks similar and is already a smart lock by itself. It comes with all the perks of all Seguratainer locking systems: heavy duty design, high security against the bad guys and full remote access control.
A Lock Box Lock with No Keys
Your smartphone is the only key you will need!
All Seguratainer container locks can only be opened with an authorized smartphone. We use NFC technology to validate the user’s credentials. It is wireless, encrypted and immediate. And it does not require access to data to work, hence perfect for remote locations.
Additionally, you can generate and manage all keys from your laptop.
Each key is:
Associated to the phone owner: no anonymous access.
Easy to edit or delete in a few clicks: fexible and customizable.
Traceable: all actions are log into your system’s history 24/7.
For all of these reasons, the Seguratainer Lock Box Lock is the only lock box you will ever want to use to protect your goods.
More about Seguratainer:
Seguratainer is a company that specializes in designing high security (and smart…) electronic shipping container and truck locking systems. Patented, heavy duty and market tested in South Africa, where our roots lie, and one of the most dangerous markets in the world.

All our locks use smartphone keys which can be managed in a few clicks from anywhere in the world with a laptop and internet access.
The keys use NFC technology -the same touchless technology banks trusted to implement touchless payments- to validate the user’s credentials and all actions are registered on your end and accessible at any time.
You can even customize the keys and the locks to fit your delivery schedules, locations and rotating personnel.
